You’ve probably have heard of stories about people who spent thousands of dollars on their characters in Diablo Immortal. Some spent hundreds of thousands of dollars. But that doesn’t mean you can’t obtain legendary gems for free. Diablo Immortal has provided several ways for free-to-play players to obtain legendary gems for free. Check out these 11 ways to get free legendary gems in Diablo Immortal.

Buy monthly legendary crest from the Hilts Trader

Every month, you can buy a monthly legendary crest from the Hilts Trader for 1,600 hilts. Once you get the legendary crest, you can run an Elder Rift to get a legendary gem. You can also buy a Ca’arsen’s Invigoration gem for 1,600 hilts every month.

The Hilts Trader is located near Immortal Overlook Waypoint at the top right corner of Westmarch.

Buy monthly legendary crest for Immortal at the Hilts Trader

If your character is an Immortal, you can buy a legendary crest from the Hilts Trader under Immortal tab. You can only buy this crest once a month once your Immortal Age has reached Silver III. You can also get a monthly Ca’arsen’s Invigoration gem as Immortal.

Once you get the legendary crest, you can run an Elder Rift to get a legendary gem.

Buy weekly legendary crest from the Crest Merchant

Every week, you can buy a legendary crest from the Crest Merchant for 1,600 platinum. But before you think you need to spend money to get these platinum, just know that you can get platinum for free by doing daily activities. You get 300 platinum by earning 120 battle pass points every day. That’s 2,100 platinum per week, which means you can get that legendary crest for free from the Crest Merchant every week.

Where is the Crest Merchant? The Crest Merchant is located near the Elder Rift entrance. Walk down the stairs near the Elder Rift Entrance, the Crest Merchant should be on the left.

Buy weekly eternal legendary crest from the Crest Merchant

From the same Crest Merchant mentioned above, you can also buy a weekly eternal legendary crest for 1600 platinum. However, in order for this crest to be available for purchase, you will need to complete one Helliquary warband raid every week. To complete a warband raid, you need to complete one Helliquary raid with three other warband members.

Beside the 2100 platinum you can earn per week from the battle pass, you can also sell unbound gems for platinum at the Market. You can get up to 63 unbound gems per week from hidden lairs. When you play in a group of 4, you can also have increased chance at getting unbound gems. That should be more than enough to buy the weekly eternal legendary crest from the Crest Merchant.

Once you get the legendary crest, you can run an Elder Rift to get a legendary gem.

Trade Telluric Pearl to craft a select 2-star quality 5-star legendary gem

Every week, you can buy one Telluric Pearl from the Hilts Trader. You can also get Telluric Pearl by completing events, though these events appear randomly.

Once you have 40 Telluric Pearls, you can go to the Master Jeweler in Westmarch. Talk to him and select “Craft Legendary Gem.” Then follow his instructions to craft the gem of your choice.

Win weekly shadow war

If your character is a Shadow, you can get one legendary crest per week if your clan wins the weekly shadow war. To win the weekly shadow war, your clan needs to win shadow war on both Thursday and Saturday to get 1st place.

Once you get the legendary crest, you can run an Elder Rift to get a legendary gem.

Do weekly Kion’s Ordeal

If your character is an Immortal, instead of shadow war, you can get a weekly legendary crest by completing Kion’s Ordeal. The first Kion’s Ordeal that you complete every week gives you a guaranteed legendary crest from the chest that will pop up once it is completed. Make sure to collect it before exiting the Kion’s Ordeal.

Once you get the legendary crest, you can run an Elder Rift to get a legendary gem.

Buy legendary gems at the Market

The easiest way to get the exact legendary gem that you want is to buy it at the Market, if you can’t craft it at the Apprentice Jeweler. Buying gems at the Market costs platinum. However, you can earn free platinum by:

• Claiming 300 platinum from battle pass every day by completing 120 battle pass points daily.
• Selling unbound normal gems from hidden lair (up to 63 of them every week) at the Market.
• Selling unbound normal gems from running dungeons or world farming in a group of 4 at the Market.
• Selling unwanted eternal legendary gems at the Market.
• Selling charms at the Market.

Craft legendary gems/crest at the Apprentice Jeweler

You can craft a one or two-star legendary gem of your choice at the Apprentice Jeweler. Or you can also craft an eternal legendary crest at the Apprentice Jeweler then run an Elder Rift to get a random legendary gem, which can be a 5-star legendary gem.

Chance to get legendary crest at the Accursed Tower

If your clan controls a legendary Accursed Tower, you have a chance of getting a legendary crest from the weekly chests you get from contribution. To get these chests, you can claim daily accumulated contribution points or clear the accursed tower until you have enough contribution points to claim them.

To access the Accursed Tower, go to Clans menu then select Accursed Tower and click “Enter” button to enter the tower. You can also enter Accursed Tower by clicking on the table at the top of Westmarch map, to the right of Bounty board.

Get legendary crest from events

Occasionally, Diablo Immortal has events that give you legendary crests as rewards for completing them. Even though I say occasionally, Diablo Immortal has increased the amount of events, and now it feels like you have at least once event per week.

Once you get the legendary crest, you can run an Elder Rift to get a legendary gem.
